The estate sale auction that I attended was absolutely crazy. Due to the unseasonably warm weather, the turnout was about 1/3 of the usual audience . I managed to buy a lot of vintage and antique items at a discount, because I choose to go to the auction instead of enjoying the beautiful day. An opportunity like this at an estate sale auction doesn’t happen often, but when it does, I take full advantage of the situation. Unfortunately for the estate and the auction house, days like this are a nightmare.
I vintage telescopic lens mounted onto a rifle stock with the trigger attached to the camera caught my eye. Usually an rare find like this would be near impossible to buy at an auction, but today was my winning day. I saw potential buyers looking at the eccentric setup and I figured the competition would be steep. I started the bidding out at $20.00 because I have learned to start at the bottom will draw in buyers and they may just decide to win the item not matter what the cost. To my surprise I won the telescopic lens for $20.00 which would have never happened on a normal auction day.
This was not my only victory of the day and I left the auction in quite a good mood to say the least. I managed to purchase a coveted Hess Training Van for just $5.00. Don’t bother to wipe your eyes, you read that correctly. Just $5.00 which is nearly unheard conditioning the excellent condition of the vintage training van. I made to many other purchases to list, but I am sure that you get the idea
